I wonder if anyone monitored exactly how much water the two candidates drank during last Thursday's debate? It turns out that I wasn't the only one who noticed that Kerry just seemed to be taking occasional sips, while George W. Bush was sucking it down like a camel just returned from the desert. Bush was also frequently seen licking his lips and sweating a good bit more than Kerry, though the room was a calculated 71 degrees as per the candidates' 32 page declaration of containment and damage control.

Why do I ask? Here's some food for thought. If you take a look at the book, "Criminal Investigation" by Swanson, Chamelin and Territo, 8th Edition, you will find the following interesting description:

"... an increase in sweating; changes in color of the skin; a dry mouth shown when the subject frequently swallows, wets the lips, or constantly indicates thirst."

What is this a description of?

"Among the many common symptoms that may appear as a result of the pressure produced by lying..."

Gives one pause for thought. Care for a drink?
