John Kerry is on Meet the Press this morning. They are covering a lot of topics, but just now Tim asked him whether or not he would vote to confirm Scalia as the head of the Supremes if and when the position comes open. His answer was one word. "No."

Tim then went on to read a quote from the year Scalia was originally confirmed to the court, where Kerry praised Scalia, saying that his "conservative views" would add needed balance to the court, and that he "respected him as a jurist." Tim then asked him, "what about that."

Kerry responded with three words that will probably shock everyone out of their chairs.

"I was wrong."

Can you just imagine the nerve? A politician saying he was wrong about something? Can you even picture those three words coming past George W. Bush's lips without choking him to death in the process?

"I was wrong."

Simply remarkable.
