Hang on to your hats!

Some time in the next few days, you're going to be seeing a change here at Running Scared. To be specific, we'll be gone! Ok... not actually gone, but moved to better quarters on campus, to steal a quote from Ghostbusters. We're still in the process of placing the final orders and getting a timetable for when it will happen, but this blog will be following the example of Joe Gandelman at The Moderate Voice, and moving to Powerblogs. As soon as we're ready to make the jump, we'll be posting the new and (hopefully) improved URL for everyone to change their bookmarks, blogrolls, etc.

The bottom line is that Blogger, while it has served many of us well over the years, is simply not performing up to snuff these days. I admire them for working hard to keep things going, and there's a lot to be said for a free service (though we went with the pay version back when it was offered for the photo options) but I simply want more features and more reliability. Thus far, Powerblogs seems to fill the bill. There should be a number of new features coming available to make navigation, tracking, commenting, and overall use of the site considerably easier on the reader.

Wish us luck, and heeding Murphy's Law, I will ask in advance for your tolerance if we experience a few hiccups along the way. This should be coming early this week. Cross your fingers and keep the faith. We're not deserting you... simply trying to offer you a better and more reliable, enjoyable blog reading experience. In the meanwhile, we'll continue with regular posting here as normal, and I'll update you as more information becomes available.
